Depth of Field Photography

This half term the theme for photography has been the natural world.

The pupils have been looking at how they could improve their understanding of the cameras functions and to create a range of images using same subject.

The exercise was to enable them to use some of the manual functions on the mode dial instead of the pre-set mode for macro shooting.

The task selected was to show how to create images with differing depths of fields. They needed to shoot the same subject showing, subject and background in focus, through to subject in focus and background a range or single or multiple blurred colours.

Once the images were taken, the pupils downloaded them for editing with their best three selected for sharing with the group for evaluation and marking.

The selected images were one pupil’s edited collection.
