Exam Information Summer 2024
The Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) have stated that for this academic year the afternoon of Thursday 6th June and Thursday 13th June and the morning and afternoon of Wednesday 26th June 2024 has been designated by the Exam Board as a 'contingency day' for examinations.
These contingency days may be used if there is any disruption to a day of examinations - in the case examinations may be rescheduled. Therefore, students need to make sure they are available on all three dates and should not be away / on holiday on Wednesday 26th June.
JCQ go on to say, if students are not available because they are on holiday on the day of their exams is rescheduled to a contingency day, they will not be eligible for special consideration by the exam boards. For this reason, JCQ requests all schools inform parents and students of this date so that it can be taken into account when making plans for the summer.
As a school, we hope that the use of the contingency day will not be necessary. However, we feel we should pass on the JCQ information and request that students be available in case it is required.
